Pointe Fittings
We specialise in Pointe shoe fittings and Pointe shoe refits. Please be aware that Appointments are essential for these fittings. Please allow 20 – 30 minutes for a 1st pair. Group fittings are also available but need to be arranged at least 2 weeks in advance with the teacher, so we can organise for the specialist to be in store as well as your teacher if possible.
1st Pair of Pointe Shoes
We will go through the fitting of the shoe step by step and explain the difference between a wrongly fitted shoe and a right fitted shoe with the girls, letting them feel the difference between the two so that they can understand. We also go through how to look after your feet & shoes to reduce the risk of injury. The 1st pair of Pointe shoes is an exciting time for young dancers, and we try to make their experience as special and exciting as possible.
Preparing for your First Pair
Your toenails need to be cut short and straight. Do not cut them into the corners as you are more inclined to get ingrown toenails with pointe shoes. If you can touch the end of your toe and feel your toenail, your toenail is too long. Please wear shorts, leggings, or jeans, no skirts or dresses. We need you to feel comfortable being fitted. If you do choose to wear ballet attire, you must wear ballet pink convertible tights as we need to look at your feet.
