I started dancing when I was three years old and danced and performed in nearly every style imaginable, from Ballet to Theatrical to Highland dancing. I began working at Costume & Ballet 24 years ago, whilst I was still training and performing and worked my way up the ranks to now being the proprietor for the 20 past years.
I understand the magic of getting your first little ballet outfit & shoes, the excitement of being told you’re ready for ‘Pointe’, being fitted for your first pair of Pointe shoes and the struggles you face when becoming a senior dancer working toward your goals. I have had the pleasure of watching little ballerina’s prancing around the store in their first pair of shoes. They are now performing in exceptional companies overseas and also as performers in the West Australian and Australian Ballet Companies.
It’s a great feeling knowing that in some way, I have helped them with their correct shoe fittings to get to where they are. I pride myself also on my staff, who are all just as passionate as I am when it comes to dancing and correct shoe fitting.
Manager: Tam
Tam is my fantastic manager who always puts her customers first! Tam is an ex Ballroom, Latin, New Vouge, Jazz, Tap, Ballet, & contemporary Dancer. She brings a world of knowledge into the store with always researching things herself when she feels more should be known about a certain shoe or item. She is fantastic with our little ballerinas and first-time dancers. She is a fully trained Pointe shoe fitter with all of our 15 styles. It is a pleasure to have had her in the shop for the past 10 years.
